A Member's News From Nuevo Vallarta

October 27, 2013

The new season is upon us and Aimfair members are starting to share their experiences. We hear progress with Cirque du Soleil in Riviera Maya is moving forward. Luxxe Building Three, the SPA Building will be opening on or about November 15. We have heard from a member, who is in Nuevo Vallarta now.
"We had a great time with our friends and they went home this morning. There is a flurry of activity as the owner's son is getting married next week and supposedly there will be three days of activities. The big lake behind the Bliss and Mayan Palace has been drained, cleaned and new planting has been added. They have a lot of workers there and its looking like only a couple more days until they will be refilling. The water at the Sanctuario has been drained as well. I do not know if that is because of some problem or because they were just refreshing the look. The ambiance is not quite the same looking at black plastic instead of the water reflecting the colors of the lights changing. We only walked through there in the evening but they did have entertainment. We decided to wait for the water to return.

You know we looked at Building V up close yesterday but I did not count the floors. I would say 5 is about right. Our salesperson said next November I believe for completion. The pools near Bldg. 3 and 4 are close to completion and the plants are in the area and look ready for the landscaping crew. I think Spa Tower units are scheduled for completion shortly. I'm not sure if that is a few of them or all of them. I would say a few.

The model for the three bedroom loft units is complete and decorated. The unit and the décor is beyond beautiful. Lovely fabrics and furniture, a full kitchen with oven and dishwasher, a cooling pool that is heated and, deeper than the Grand Luxxe pools and made of beautiful translucent tiles, and the balcony is huge and the furniture is very inviting. All I could say was "Wow" Can I live there?

La Plaza is not ready but they are working like crazy, 24 hours a day I think, probably to get at least the ballroom ready for next week. We were guessing if they finished it in time they might use it for the wedding reception. It is on the top floor and the chandeliers and plants are already in place. You can tell it is not finished however and the first and second floors are not nearly as far along as the ballroom. They seem to be constructing a wooden walkway to that top floor so I am guessing elevators are not yet ready either.

There is a huge white tent on the beach near Punta Arenas that was used for the owner's anniversary party, which took place before we got here. They still haven't taken it down so I am wondering if they will use it for one of the wedding events or if the ballroom is not finished they might use it for the reception. That is just idle speculation on our part. They removed the floor one day this week but the tent is still there.

We have been to the breakfast buffet at del Lago and it was wonderful as usual. We only ate out at night at Eddie's and in town so don't have any restaurant news. On Monday night a lot of the on site restaurants are closed and the grocery has been moved over by the Jade boutique. The boutique is now about half the size it was in the spring and the grocery is in the other part. I suppose they are getting ready to move to La Plaza.

The Sea Garden/ Ocean Breeze is totally closed and the small Sun Market is closed as well. We heard rumors that that property was sold off and no idea what will be done with it. Sort of sad because we went down for the Mexican buffet several times and enjoyed it. And the landscaping and building is great.

That is about all I know but if I think of something else I will contact you."
Thank you from all of us for the update. Lots of interesting news, and lots to look forward to.
